The weird stuff

Things that exist because they amused me. No further justification is offered and none should be expected.

01

Alternative window close mechanic

The close button is a solved problem, which is exactly what makes it boring. A dialog asks whether you want to save your changes; you are given a small grey X and expected to feel nothing about it.

This is the same interaction with the emotional register corrected. Two barrels, two shots — the first knocks the window crooked, the second removes it from the conversation entirely.

Do you want to save changes?

Your changes to "Untitled Document" will be lost if you do not save them.

02

Alternative window close mechanic, continued

The first one needs a shotgun, which is not always to hand. This one needs a mouse, a little patience, and a working relationship with gravity.

Windows are heavier than they look. Hold one up by a single corner and it will hang there, swinging, for exactly as long as you are prepared to keep holding it.

Try click and hold the red dot
